About
Hi, I'm Dave. I have loved all animals for as long as I can remember, and have taken this love of animals to University level with a BSc degree in Animal Management, specializing in zoo and companion animals.
I currently work at Wood Green in Godmanchester, as part of the dog rehoming team, gaining more experience with dogs of all sizes and all different behaviours and personalities. I have years of experience managing and working with raptors (birds of prey, not the dinosaurs!) - from american kestrels to golden eagles, as well as experience with other exotics such as reptiles, amphibians, parrots, meerkats and other small mammals. In 2017 I completed a practical first aid and management of raptors course at the International Centre For Birds of Prey, run by Neil Forbes and Jemima Parry-Jones. I completed my LANTRA in 2008 and worked as senior falconer at a bird of prey rescue centre for 4 years. And I'm Rowan! From a young age I had a keen love for animals, volunteering at the local stable on weekends. I have owned a variety of pets including; Guinea-Pigs, Rats, Cats, Hamsters, and Dogs. I have looked after family and friends pets when they have gone away giving me the ability to look after animals I haven't owned such as rabbits and cockatiels!
In order to further my knowledge in pet care I aim to complete an animal first aid course ASAP. Both Dave and I currently own a little menagerie of our own, Bonnie (as seen in multiple pictures!) is our Black Labrador, we have three cats; Bilbo, Bagel, and Loki, and we have a pair of guinea-pigs; Pod and Cheese! We come together with a wide range of pet care knowledge to really give you the peace of mind you deserve. |
